cognitive therapy for the integral age

sounds pretty lofty perhaps
but this is what I am planning as the focus of my dissertation
I am thinking about ways I might "work with this" collaboratively with folks on Zaadz...perhaps through trying out some "mock" therapy with willing "guinea pigs" (er, clients).
I am a certified clinical counsellor, the Master's level designation here in Canada, and currently completing a PhD program in counselling psychology - so I probably wouldn't hurt you even if I can't help you.
I'd love to develop this therapy simultaneously in theory and practice...
these are just the seeds of my thoughts...any input greatly appreciated!

Hi Durwin,
I think your dissertation idea is right on target! It makes sense to me that an “amber” would kinda need a different therapeutic approach than a “green”! And what about the developmental lines? We all have different profiles of development along our different lines. How sensitive or responsive would an AQAL assessment of an individual need to be?
Another thought that emerges is that some diagnoses might turn out to be more typical of some integral developmental stages than others.
I've also been interested for the past year and a half in narcisist/sociopathic/psychopathic personalities… in short, the heartless ones, who live in fear and sadness, but, you know, find their ways to try to compensate… I wonder whether there is an AQAL way to help explain them. I've come to think that they have a kind of pathology of the spirit…
But yeah… don't mind me, I'm just rambling and free associating. I'm fairly “green,” (as probably most people on Zaadz are at least largely green, which might make it difficult to find diverse assistance here) and I'd be happy to participate in any constructive way. If you're looking for my pathology, you can read my blog of today! :)
thanks Martha! you don't sound green :) I appreciate your ongoing input.
there are lots of threads to follow up with here…i think i am not entirely doing them justice…it occured to me perhaps we might want to schedule a phone call or suchlike in the New Year to follow up on some of these shared interests…just a thought…we can see what things look like after holidays…
…or, perhaps simply using “real email” instead of the Zaadz email interface. I have trouble sometimes getting timed out and so forth. I will send you a Zaadz email with my “real email” address. I think your dissertation project is very exciting! What an opportunity! Multiple opportunities! Really, just to be able to think about framing cognitive therapy from an integral perspective! Wow! My wish for you is that when you get inspired with ideas, that you will be able to just sit down and write. Don't wait! Sometimes I let trivial stuff interfere with the times when my mind is able to handle large information sets and is willing to work with me and here come the ideas! That's the time to honor your own needs! Write when the ideas flow! May you be blessed with many, many ideas and much energy!
great advice once again! and thanks for the energy boost…learning to trust that intuition that says “go now!” is a worthy goal for this year…
